THE SOLO DRIVE FROM LONDON TO LAGOS

Nubi began in England, travelled through France and Spain to Morocco, then across the West Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Ghana, Togo, and Benin before arriving in Lagos.
Pelumi Nubi made history as the first black woman to complete the 68-day solo journey from London to Lagos.
THE ARRIVAL

She arrived at the University of Lagos on Sunday, April 7, 2024. Upon her arrival, the gathering of admirers and well-wishers greeted her with carnival-style performances and cheers. Also, she received a new car, a house, and the title of Lagos State Tourism Ambassador.
She also received a customised plate number “NUBI – 9JA” while donating the Peugeot 107 vehicle that she used to travel to the J Randle Center for Yoruba Culture and History as a gift to Lagos.
