Upon returning to Nigeria, Dr. Dozie brought his expertise to bear on the country’s evolving business landscape. In 1990, he founded Diamond Bank, a financial institution that grew rapidly and became known for its innovation and customer focus. Diamond Bank would later merge with Access Bank in 2019, forming one of Africa’s largest banking groups.

Dr. Dozie also played a key role in the Nigerian telecom revolution. He was the founding chairman of MTN Nigeria, helping to secure the GSM license that allowed the company to launch operations in the country in 2001. Today, MTN Nigeria is the largest telecom provider in the country, serving millions of Nigerians daily.
