Can we just replace all writers with AI bots and call it a day? Trumpery! I still wonder about the fun of writing a novel when a machine can do it for you, complete with clichés and predictable plot twists. I hope I am not being sarcastic. Is the soul of literature reaped by a machine? Where is the heart in a story written without human experience or emotion? How much AI did Willams Shakespeare use to invoke the immutable words in his crafts? Did Chinualumogu Achebe use AI to narrate “Things Fall Apart”? I am wondering too if Williams Wordsworth used it. Forgive my bluntness, but literature is dead, and AI killed it.
Accordingly, it is irrefutable that the advent of Artificial Intelligence has revolutionised numerous industries, transforming the way we work and live. However, the literary world has been particularly affected by the rise of AI-generated content. While AI-powered tools promise to streamline writing processes and enhance productivity, they also pose a significant threat to the very essence of literature: creativity, originality, and the human touch.

Progressively, AI-generated content has become increasingly prevalent in various forms, from automated news articles to algorithmic poetry. There is an increasing progression from inspiration to automation. Or is it a retrogression? You judge! These tools use complex algorithms to analyse existing texts, learn patterns, and generate new content that often mimics human writing. My fear is simple, this ‘guy’ will soon run out of words. While this technology has its benefits, such as speed and efficiency, it also raises concerns about the homogenisation of literature.
Regrettably, AI-generated content often lacks the unique perspective, refinement, and emotional depth that human writers bring to their work. Have we now become voiceless that we plead constantly for an ARTIFIAL voice? By relying on algorithms to generate content, we risk losing the diversity and richness that literature provides. The homogenisation of literature can lead to a cultural sink where unique voices are drowned out by the monotony of algorithmic writing.

In addition, originality is the lifeblood of literature. Writers pour their hearts and souls into crafting unique stories, characters, and worlds. However, AI-generated content threatens to eradicate originality, replacing it with formulaic and predictable writing. The consequences are catastrophic: a literary world devoid of innovation, creativity, and authenticity.
Similarly, the rise of this career-killing monster also has significant implications for writers. As this cancerous monger become more prevalent, writers may find themselves replaced by machines. This could lead to a loss of livelihoods, as well as a decline in the quality of literature. Furthermore, the pressure to compete with AI-generated content may force writers to compromise their artistic vision, sacrificing creativity for the sake of efficiency.
Therefore, the catastrophic tendencies of AI in the literary world raise important questions about the future of writing. Will we continue to value the unique perspective and creativity that human writers bring to their work? Or will we succumb to the efficiency and speed of AI-generated content, sacrificing the essence of literature in the process?

The rise of AI-generated content in the literary world poses a significant threat to creativity, originality, and the human touch. While AI-powered tools have their benefits, we must be cautious not to sacrifice the essence of literature on the altar of efficiency. We must continue to value and support human writers, ensuring that the literary world remains unequivocally vibrant. In this spirit, I say, dare to think – for there is profound power in creativity.

It’s unfortunate that AI has crept into literary world, this takes away creativity and imagination of the human writer, these are the elements that brings about plot twist and suspense in writing. Let’s keep AI out of the literary world to preserve the authenticity of the human writer.
