Will Arsenal FC make another instance or illustration of a prayer point?: “Every near success syndrome…” Nigerian pastors know better. There is no gainsaying that the English Premier League is a global brand and betting companies are poised about it. Will Arsenal be another pin the in the neck of Nigerian bettors or will they amount to many destruction of tickets? Oh, na one cut am! 70% of Nigerian bettors, lose to Arsenal’s Lacklustre.
As the Premier League season enters its final stretch, Arsenal fans are filled with hope and optimism. The Gunners have had a remarkable campaign, and their loyal supporters are dreaming of a first title in nearly two decades. But, are they getting ahead of themselves? Is their optimism bordering on delusion?
The case for Arsenal’s title win is strong. They have been one of the most consistent teams this season, with a strong squad and a well-oiled machine of a system. Mikel Arteta’s leadership has made a significant impact since his arrival, instilling a new sense of belief and discipline within the team. The emergence of young talent from their academy has also been a major factor in their success. Players like Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, and Gabriel Martinelli have become integral to the team’s success, and their enthusiasm and energy have injected a new dynamic into the squad.
However, there are also valid reasons to question Arsenal’s title credentials. History has a way of repeating itself, and Arsenal has a history of falling short in crucial moments. They have often succumbed to pressure and expectation, and their fans have been left heartbroken on numerous occasions. And, of course, there is the small matter of Manchester City’s experience and quality. Several pundits believe that the only way Manchester City can legitimately lose this premier league title is if greater power pay them substantial amounts or give them commercial and political rights – and let us face it, they do not really need the money. The reigning champions have been in this position before and know how to handle the pressure.
Despite these concerns, Arsenal fans remain optimistic. They point to their team’s impressive form, their solid defense, and their potent attack. They argue that this team is different, that they have a newfound resilience and determination that will see them through. And, to be fair, there is some merit to this argument. Arsenal has shown a level of consistency and maturity this season that has been missing in recent years.
But, are they getting ahead of themselves? Are they ignoring the warning signs and the lessons of history? The answer, perhaps, lies somewhere in between. Arsenal fans are right to be excited and optimistic, but they must also be cautious. The Premier League is notorious for its unpredictability, and Manchester City’s experience and quality cannot be discounted.
In recent years, Arsenal fans have been accused of being delusional, of living in a fantasy world where their team is always the favourite. And, to some extent, this criticism has been fair. Arsenal fans have often been guilty of overestimating their team’s abilities and underestimating their opponents. But, this season, things feel different. This team feels more solid, more resilient, and more determined.
Yes, while Arsenal fans have every right to be excited, they must temper their expectations with a dose of realism. The Premier League is a cruel mistress, and she can turn on you in an instant. Manchester City’s experience and quality cannot be discounted, and Arsenal must stay focused and avoid getting ahead of themselves. Only then can they silence the doubters and lift the coveted trophy. So, are Arsenal fans delusional? Not entirely, but a healthy dose of caution and realism is advised. After all, as the old adage goes, “pride comes before a fall.”

We are rightfully hopeful. Arsenal will make their mark this season.
…and by the way, wetin Nigerian pastors do you? Na prayer point na.
Thank you, Daniel.
I bet you, Daniel, Arsenal FC fans are indeed delusional. It’s the near-success syndrome. This is yet another season for weeping. Arsenal woes continue!
Thank you for the piece anyway.
Arsenal won’t win the league in Jesus Name
Arsenal are a big team, no doubt. However, there are forces they need to break…” the near success syndrome”… ómó you can ridicule o.
Honestly, I don’t think this sea belongs to the gunners. We can hope against hope anyway.
In as much as Arsenal play beautiful football, they’ll need another season to prove their worth – and God knows how many more seasons they need.
Nice piece, Dan.
Sadly, Jesus doesn’t have a role here. In this game, principalities and powers hold sway.
I perceive you could be Man U. We will see how it goes.
Thank you!
Will the search for a Premier League title be perpetual? We’ll keep our fingers crossed.
Thank you!
Thank you, John!
Goodluck Juliet!
Thank you.
Oga, you don’t belong here, you should be writing for the BBC or the Buckingham Palace. I am marveled at your creativity and craft of words. Your first paragraph will stand the test of time.
On d mata, Arsenal will need the favour of the English FA to win the title, otherwise, nothing on earth can stop Manchester City from the glory.
Make Arsenal sha win make them break this curse biko . Daniel you not an Arsenal fan are you??
I swear, that match against Man U was fixed to favour Arsenal. Man U would prefer Arsenal to Manchester City to pick up the trophy; hence Arsenal’s ruthlessness. Your first paragraph deserves an award. I’d be back to read this over again.
Respect to you Sir Daniel. I couldn’t be happier. Your articles are merciless with words. I should register for tutorials.
So, I am an Arsenal Fan and I think we are “rightfully hopeful”.
Thank you!
Daniel, Daniel, Daniel!!! How many times did I call you?;Your witchcraft in writing something scintillating. Kindly give me d witch chop abeg. Yeah, on this topic, Arsenal Fans have always been delusional, history bears me witness. I don talk finish
I want to plead, if you love your health, stay aloof. Arsenal FC is the Super Eagles in red; they will kill you before your time via HBP.
Manchester City all the Way.
I should have commented yesterday, but I was busy. So before I get engrossed with today’s activities, let me drop my opinion. Arsenal FC is for the commercials and I think it’s high time most fans realized that. Arsenal make sure they don’t lose finally – soon they’ll sell some of their valuable players at fabulous amounts and then recruit from their academy again. We will know when they are ready for trophies, but for now, they are for the money. Therefore, about the title, fans are indeed delusional.
Of the remaining 2 games for Arsenal to wrap up the season, 1 will be lost, and the other 1 will end in a draw. Yeah, the season will not end in favor of Arsenal. Make no mistakes, this doesn’t make Arsenal a loser, it only buttresses their history of failure.
Arsenal FC, my home and my heart; till death do us part. Daniel, we are not delusional; we’ll shock you.
This season is unarguably Arsenal’s best in 10 years or more. However, the title looks far from us with Manchester City having 3 games to play. Who will gift Arsenal the trophy? At this point, I have cancel “every near success syndrome”… AMEN
The beautiful thing about my club, Arsenal is that most people who criticize are lovers of our pattern of football. Is football all about the trophy? Arsenal haven’t won in about two decades, yet its financial capacity continues to soar. Even the fan base has increased. I ask again, is this game all about the trophy? Well, this time, we’ll give you the trophy to the dismay of many.
Arsenal will tour the city of London with the EPL Cup. “Every near success syndrome”…is broken already!
Daniel, you’re a witch of a writer! 😂 Keep it up… you’ll one day write for the King of The UK.
Thank you for the respect accorded. I wish you luck as Arsenal journey to victory
To be bewitched, keep reading from us and don’t forget to subscribe. The evidence/history is against Arsenal. We wish them the best!
Your response has evoked another title. Thank you. We’ll keep our fingers crossed as the events unfold.
Please ensure that you bet on this predictions. YOU COULD WIN!
THANK YOU!
…sounds like a poem. I just hope you’re not practicing suicide by installments.
Thank you!
You have a valid point.
Thank you!
Football! I will like to be neutral. As unpredictable as soccer can sometimes be, history and antecedents can either be rewritten or otherwise. “Near success syndrome” factor sometimes is a resultant effect of the inadequacies and incapabilities of “men” not to mention metaphysical powers. Sometimes a winner is not the intrinsically prepared person and the defeated is not always lacking in skill and experience … [ time and chance happens to them all ] … However, stamina, skill, unity and experience should be enforced. Football remains a game!
Thank you, INNOC. We are happy to have elites like you share your view.
Thank you, again.
Although I’m not an Arsenal Fan, but I commend the unanimous efforts from the team’s management down to the goal
Keeper.
Apparently, Mikel Arteta’s leadership has made a significant impact on Arsenal’s league score this season. At this point, I’d say it’s more of fate taking its momentum on them rather than their fans being delusional.
Rhoda thinks Arsenal is the best big thing that happened to English premier league this season.
Arsenal my Arsenal, together we’ll celebrate. We are rightfully hopeful.
Thank you.
I will be brief, Arsenal fans are delusional.
Thank you
We’ll see the extent of their delusion in less than three weeks.
Thank you, Seun
Keep your optimism burning, your laugh might come last.
Thank you
Arsenal will emerge as the champion of the EPL. Watch what the English FA will do to ensure this happens. Unfortunately, Man City FC do not have massive fans in Nigeria, however, haters of Arsenal FC, such as Chelsea will wrap and wail at the end of the day.
Up Gunners!
Arsenal fans are notnonly deludional but also simplistic. Obviously they lack the sense required to asses situations therefore their fate as runners-up will vontinue for many seasons to come. Blue for life.
Blue for life? The gist is lucid, Blues for life indeed, what a sarcastic way to end a remark!
Thank you, Ope
