Previous editions of the marathon have directly benefited over 13,618 individuals, with efforts to increase awareness reaching over 50,010 people in Lagos.
The marathon, celebrated for athleticism and community engagement, is a significant platform for cultural exchange, contributing to tourism and the economy.
The Lagos State Government issues a travel advisory for the marathon, closing some routes for the safety of runners. The marathon starts at 5:30 AM with different start points and distances.
The Third Mainland Bridge will be closed inwards Lagos Island, along with Funsho Williams Avenue, Ikorodu Road, Anthony, Gbagada, Dolphin Rd, Alfred Rewane, Falomo Roundabout, Bourdilon Rd, Lekki bridge, Freedom way, Akin-Adesola, and Ahmadu Bello Way.
Alternative routes provided for diversion include Apongbon Bridge, Eko Bridge, Costain Roundabout, Iponri, Bode Thomas, Apapa Road, Oyingbo, Jebba, Herbert Macaulay, Victoria Island, Independence Bridge, CMS bridge, Apongbon, Ijora Olopa, Iddo, Oyingbo, and Herbert Macaulay.
Over 81 Gold Label athletes and 15 refugee runners confirmed their participation in the marathon.”
